Someone in Connecticut is not in the Christmas spirit. Around midnight, firefighters were called to the scene, the New Haven Christmas tree, because there were reports of a fire. The tree happened to be intact but underneath it was a Bible, on fire, on top of electrical cables.
The firefighters cut off power to the tree so that it would not be damaged.
The tree itself is a 65 foot tall Norway Spruce and had around 30,000 lights on it.
According to Department of Parks’ Director, Bob Levine:
New Haven’s holiday tree is enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year and it is unfortunate that it appears someone may have intentionally attempted to damage it.
