Jesse Dimmick is a maniac and we don’t just throw that word around. While on the run from police as a suspect in a beating death of a man in Colorado, he found himself knocking on the door of Jared and Lindsay Rowley’s home in Topeka, Kansas and at that point, he took things to the next level. He told the couple that he was being chased by someone, “probably the police”. That is when he struck a deal with the Rowleys. According to Dimmick:
“I, the defendant, asked the Rowleys to hide me because I feared for my life. I offered the Rowleys an unspecified amount of money which they agreed upon, therefore forging a legally binding oral contract.”
The Rowleys, who apparently would do anything to get out of that situation, agreed and proceeded to feed Dimmick snacks and watched Patch Adams with him at which point, shockingly enough, he fell asleep. They then fled, as we all would, and Dimmick says that’s not fair, not fair at all because they had a deal. So, he sued them for $235,000 mainly because of the bullet wound he suffered when the police finally caught up with him.

Considering he showed a knife to the Rowleys and indicated that he probably had a gun, the contract, even if there was one, would not hold up in any court. Dimmick doesn’t buy that though and why should he? He’s a criminal and has the mind only a criminal could have.
According to CBS:
Dimmick was convicted in May 2010 of four felonies, including two counts of kidnapping. He was sentenced to 10 years and 11 months on those charges. He was later sent to a jail in Brighton, Colo., where he is being held on eight charges, including murder, in connection of with the killing of Michael Curtis in September 2009. A preliminary hearing originally scheduled for Dec. 6 has been rescheduled for April 12. No plea has been entered in the case.
You gotta give it to the Rowley’s though. Some twinkies and Patch Adams would put anyone to sleep. Great thinking!
