Albuquerque, New Mexico is not where you want to send your kids to school, apparently. A 13 year old boy was just arrested there for “burping audibly” in class. This was during Gym class and the teacher called the school fuzz on him. The boy was handcuffed and taken away WITHOUT his parents’ knowledge.
You may think there is more to the story, and there is! The same boy was also accused of selling marijuana to other children so he was stripped down to his underwear in front of 5 adults. However, there was never any marijuana found and no charges were filed.
The problems do not end there for the same school system. Another law suit was also filed this week on behalf of a 7 year old boy with autism who was handcuffed to a chair. His parents are suing the school for unlawful arrest.
This is the same school system that arrested a girl for “didn’t want to sit by the stinky boy in class.”
Apparently, it’s just acceptable to arrest children on a whim in Albuquerque and if you can’t get the police to arrest the 7 year old with autism, handcuff him to a chair.
